WWE organizes a special Christmas treat for underprivileged children in Mumbai and Bangalore
As part of the commitment to give back to society, WWE recently sponsored the “Bosco Mela” for 2,000 underprivileged children at Don Bosco Quadrangle, school in Matunga, Mumbai today. Various activities, events, games, food and recreation were arranged to make the day memorable for the children. The objective was not only to give the children an occasion to celebrate, but also create an awareness of their rights as children and the need to be educated to make a positive contribution to society.
The event was inaugurated by Actor and Radio Jockey Salil Acharya and Actress and model Amrita Raichand.
WWE supported the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) which is an International Organization, serving youngsters, especially those who are poor and marginalized through works of charity. Shelter Don Bosco is a part of this organization and has started in 1987 to work with the abandoned and destitute children of Mumbai city. Since then, in the process of serving them, Shelter Don Bosco has developed programmes like Street Contact, A 24-Hour Open House, A Residential Home For 70 Children, Vocational Training, A Drug De-Addiction And Therapeutic Community, A Research Centre, Study Classes, and monthly Mela.
Simultaneously, WWE had also tied-up with the Open Door Foundation in Bangalore to sponsor a special festive meal for more than 700 children across seven childcare homes. Open Door Foundation is dedicated to create a better future for children living in orphanages and child-care homes in India.
