“In the eye of storm, creativity thrives”

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur, has decided to show his support for Whistling Woods International in a very unique manner. The ace actor-producer-director has decided to share his knowledge with the students of Whistling Woods to make them better filmmakers and human beings.

Shekhar Kapur said, “An institution is less defined by the land and buildings having created, but far more by the quality of minds, hearts, and passion it can create in its students. Thank you, for today I have experienced that passion and potential in the Whistling Woods (International) students. This institution must survive and prosper.”

It was a full house inside the auditorium as students flocked to interact with the iconic filmmaker. Shekhar Kapur not only addressed their questions and doubts but also shared his experiences and tips with the ‘future of the Indian and International Film Industry’, as he rightly addressed them.

Meghna Ghai Puri, President, WWI said, “Academic life at Whistling Woods will never suffer. We continue our commitment to provide the best education to our students. We started the term with a Masterclass with veteran Kamal Haasan, followed by an interaction with the Humpty Sharma (Ki Dulhania) team and this week it’s Shekhar Kapur who shared his wisdom with the students. Our intent has and will always remain positive for the growth of the students.”

Earlier this week, Shekhar Kapur and several industry personnel had tweeted to the Chief Minister. Supporters from the industry included Boman Irani, Vidya Balan, Sudhir Mishra, Nikhil Advani, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan and Madhuri Dixit-Nene amongst several others. They appealed the Chief Minister to save the Whistling Woods campus. It may be recalled that the High Court will be hearing the review petition for the land allotment on July 30, 2014.

In the recent past, UK House of Commons declared Whistling Woods as a preferred destination in India. Hollywood reporter ranked Whistling Woods International as one of the top film schools in the world.
