Rani reveals Sourav’s Hichki!
The actress shot with the iconic Indian cricket captain as she promoted Hichki on his superhit Bengali reality TV show Dadagiri. Two Bengali legends Rani Mukerji and Sourav Ganguly came together on a superhit Bengali reality TV show Dadagiri. Rani was in Kolkata yesterday to shoot this special episode that focusses on promoting Rani’s forthcoming film Hichki.
A source from the channel says, “It was a super fun episode. Rani and Sourav are both legends and both are icons in Bengal. Thus, this episode was incredibly special. Rani got Sourav to spill the secret of his cricket career on the show! Sourav was speaking to Rani on her forthcoming film Hichki and she informed Dada that she has started a campaign for the film that sees her quiz icons about their real-life hichkis (weaknesses). She immediately quizzed Sourav on his Hichki of his cricket career.”
The informer adds, “Sourav was more than forthcoming to share his weakness. He said fear of failure was the biggest hichki that he had to battle all through his career every time he went out to bat. Knowing dada’s journey, what he said made so much sense to all of us. Audiences have to catch the show to know his heartfelt admission of his weakness.”
Rani plays the character of Naina Mathur who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Hichki focusses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them. It is also a subtle reminder about discrimination that exists in our society and has become a part of our daily lives. It highlights this through the story of Naina, who faces discrimination from our society that firmly believes she cannot be a teacher because of her disorder.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma, the movie is set to touch the hearts of audiences when it releases on February 23.
