FUGLY’S KIARA ADVANI – BOLLYWOOD’S NEWEST FASHIONISTA

FUGLY’S KIARA ADVANI – BOLLYWOOD’S NEWEST FASHIONISTA

Leading Lady of Grazing Goat Pictures’ Upcoming Film Fugly on Style, Eccentricity and All Things Vintage

Kiara Advani, debutante film actress, is making waves with her sartorial choices as she promotes her upcoming film Fugly, produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures, around the country.

Forsaking the usual design labels and the Bollywood perennial favourites, the young actress has been seen in designs by eclectic brands like Papa Don’t Preach and Nisha Sainani mixed up with high street staples like River Island and Topshop for a fresh style statement, going from bohemian to dainty to sultry with what is becoming her signature aplomb and wild child carefreeness.

While her on screen character, Devi channels more of a grunge look with Sarojini Nagar dhoti pants, fringe ganjis and a Che Guevara-esque style, somewhat of a rebellious fashion statement, in real life Kiara likes to experiment with different looks depending on her mood. When asked about her personal style, Kiara describes herself as somewhat of a clothes horse, someone who likes to try a bit of every persona, from geeky chic to sexy bohemian. Her wardrobe consists of an eclectic mixture of roadside finds from across the world, vintage statement pieces and kitschy, avant garde designs from the likes of Dagmar, Acne, Theory and Thakoon.

Kiara finds her fashion inspiration from 1950’s old Hollywood films, street style blogs, lesser known fashion runways and closer home, the vibrant Bollywood fashion evident in her love for all things bright and cheerful.

FUGLY releases in cinemas this 13th June 2014.
