Fashion Fiesta For A Cause – A Charity Fundraiser by Molecule Communications
Molecule Communications recently organized a glamourous night at ‘The Angel Orensanz Foundation’ in New York, ‘FFFAC: Fashion Fiesta For A Cause’ (FFFAC), which worked towards raising funds for students of Women’s Education Project (WEP) in India. It was a fun-filled evening with an appearance and a fashion show by Betsey Johnson – Bollywood style. Apart from this, there was also dance by Rioult and comedy by star comedians Sandra Bernhard and Taylor Negron. The proceeds of this event went to the Women’s Education Project (WEP). A ticket priced at $250 allowed one to adopt one WEP student, and thus support her schooling and career training for an entire year.
The theme of the fashion show was Bollywood and models graced the ramp wearing outfits designed by famous fashion designer Betsey Johnson who was recently awarded the Medal of Honor for ‘Lifetime Achievement in Fashion’ in 2009 by National Arts Club. Speaking about the event, Betsey Johnson said, “So excited to support WEP and the wonderful work they are doing in India, helping women get an education and giving them the opportunity to better their lives. I’d do anything for Ajay at Molecule as he’s always supported my work over the years. Really excited for the event…ON WITH THE SHOW!”
The fashion show was followed by stand-up comedians, Sandra Bernhard and Taylor Nergon, who entertained audiences thoroughly. Sandra Bernhard was very keen to be a part of the initiative and said “Every woman in the world deserves an education and the opportunity to stand on her own two feet. I am so proud to support this amazing organization”.
Adding spice to the night was Rioult Dance New York’s performance, a dance group that has been playing all around North America and Europe.
This fundraising event, hosted by Molecule Communications, brought celebrity and fashion together to raise funds for students of Women’s Education Project (WEP), a non-profit organization helping young women living on less than $1 a day in India, to succeed in college and careers.
Talking about the event Ajay Shrivastav, Director Molecule Communications, said “I feel Gratitude, peace and joy. I always pray to Krsna, “Give me an opportunity to serve and be a medium to be of support to people in need- and He sure did”. He further added “This note cannot begin without thanking my life source: my family and to Kiren Shrivastav (Director Molecule Communications) who is the soul behind Molecule Communications. Because of her, I am able to pull this off. Our goal at Molecule Communications is to be a medium to support at least one or more non-profits every year to put them on the map and connect them to a new donor base. FFFAC will be a yearly gala. We are grateful to begin our goal and being given the opportunity to support WEP and Zoe- a wonderful person who is working for an amazing cause.”
