TALENT HUNT AIMS TO FIND THE BEST ARTISTES OF PUNJABI FOLK ART FORM – ‘BOLIYAN’; AUDITIONS TO BE HELD ACROSS 8 CITIES IN PUNJAB

Riding high on the stupendous success of season 1 of BIG Boli Star, 92.7 BIG FM and Spark Punjabi are proud take the mega talent hunt to the next level with the launch of season 2. BIG Boli Star which saw tremendous participation and great fan following in its debut season will soon be launching auditions across 6 cities of Punjab where they will be hunting for the best Punjabi folk art ‘Boliyan’ artistes across the state. Needless to say, the show will be promoted extensively on TV and radio.
Being a traditionally rich & culturally rooted property, BIG BOLI STAR is a competition-based reality show. A ‘boli’ expresses situations in typical poetic verses and boliyan is a folk genre of Punjab that is passed down from generation to generation purely by word-of-mouth. Season 1 of BIG Boli Star saw scores of ‘boli’ performers showcasing their talent while the show was packaged with elements like musical performances, folk dances and a lot more as the race built up for the top 2. The grand culmination event was held at Chandigarh to confer the title to the ultimate BIG BOLI STAR.
The show conceptualized as a 36 episode series will see excellent amplification on radio as an extension to its on-ground leg. The audition for the talent hunt will take place across RWAs, malls etc. across 8 cities in the region. The rigorous audition phases will be judged by prominent celebrities ensuring the best talent comes to the fore.

The show has been designed to engage audiences on both Radio & TV. At the same time, it is a unique opportunity for brands to dramatically increase their salience in a key market like Punjab. In a true talent hunt style, the search begins with on-ground auditions to be held across Punjab. The property is to get 360 degree amplification on Radio, TV, Print, OOH and Digital. After a series of selection processes, Big Boli Star will culminate in a Grand Finale event at Chandigarh.
