“Badhaai Do”  is not only Hilarious but tackles a sensitive issue Brilliantly !!!!!
It goes to the credit of Director Harshavardhan Kulkarni being a writer along with Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial for churning out such a lovely concept of a convenient marriage where either party gets space to give vent and indulge in their natural instincts under the garb of their official commitment to each other legally.
Now the narrative however clumsy at some point but engaging nevertheless holds your interest and keeps you hooked with some humorous and hilarious interactions between the main leads and the whole family on both sides.
Two queer people join hands in order to create freedom for each other and in the process start accepting themselves for what they are and make their families understand the predicament they are in.
The most sensitive issue of gays and lesbians is so delicately and beautifully handled that you virtually fall for the flow of dilemma of the subjects.
Undoubtedly and undeniably it is one of the most Superlative and Sterling performances from Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar which take the film to a different level altogether. Without their deliverance the whole narrative would have fallen flat.
Rajkummar Rao leaves no stone unturned and leaves you spell bound with his detailed caricature of the character and make it as palatable as possible. Yet another experiment which will fetch him accolades and especially those crazy dance moves will attract attention.
Bhumi Pednekar with Badhaai Do is not only pushing the boundaries for herself but lending substantial weight to the female characters in the mainstream cinema. From “Dum Lagake Haisa” to “Badhaai Do” she is just evolving magnanimously.
Chum Darang playing Bhumi’s girlfriend and Gulshan Devaiah playing Rajkummar Rao’s love interest seem to be very much in tune with the character and  deliver very balanced and refined performance.
Music Score by  Hitesh Sonik and  Songs sung by Amit Trivedi, Tanishk Bagchi, Ankit Tiwari, &  Khamosh Shah have added to the impact of the overall film.
This film  is going to be a huge boost to the LGBTQI Community and boost their morale.
All in all it will certainly hit with the like minded gentry and calls for a viewing in general for awareness keeping in mind the the nature of the subjects which has been equally and deftly handled and executed with subtle humour thereby making light of the problem on hand??✌️
