Ashutosh Gowariker’s TV Show “Everest” comes to Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand – Ashutosh Gowariker’s AGPPL that forays into television with the production of fiction show Everest has collaborated with India’s premium mountaineering institute Nehru Institute Of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarakashi, which attracts mountaineering students from across the globe.
The lead actors of his show will get trained at this mountaineering institute, after which the show is also going to be shot there.
Ashutosh expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of Uttarakhand and Col. Ajay Kothiyal, Principal NIM, for extending his support and opening the gates of NIM.
Ashutosh said, “This is my first visit to Uttarakhand. I am amazed to see the picturesque beauty of Uttarkashi. Despite the tragedy that befell this entire region, it’s heartening to see the way the people of Uttarkashi have come to terms with it and life is once again normal. I am happy to be shooting here for the next two months after which we will move to Nepal.”
NIM Principal Col. Ajay Kothiyal said:- Gangotri valley, post 2013 disaster, is today considered as a dangerous place, thus badly affecting the economy of the region. Mr Ashutosh Gowariker’s plans to shoot for the television show here is not only going to be a major step in changing the image created in the environment, after the tragedy, but will also provide employment opportunity to the people from the area.
Everest will be directed by Glenn and Ankush. It is conceptualized and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker.
