Osian’s Charity Auction for UNICEF

Osian’s will conduct its first fund raising auction for the eminent charitable institution UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) on 19 April 2013.The auction will help take forward work for the initiative ‘Dare to Care’ which is jointly promoted by UNICEF with the IPL team Delhi Daredevils with Ms. Priyanka Chopra as its Goodwill Ambassador. The association of leading event manager Wizcraft will help create an exciting evening event which will be held at the ITC Maurya, New Delhi.

Osian’s will organize the ‘Art & Cinema Memorabilia’ Auction at the Fundraiser Event to pledge their support to the cause. No Seller’s Commission or Buyer’s Premium will be charged by Osian’s on the auction sale. An extremely fine collection of artworks will be auctioned including some works specifically created by eminent artists keeping in mind the noble cause and the girl child. The standards of the professional auction will be maintained despite the funds being utilized for charitable purposes. The consignor’s, including many of India’s leading artists, will donate 50% of the sale proceeds to the UNICEF cause.Despite India’s unrelenting efforts made towards providing access to education, health and social services, we still have to take considerable strides in improving the status of the girl child. It is a fact that millions of adolescent girls in India continue to face difficulties and experience various forms of discrimination, exploitation and abuse on account of their age and gender. Investment in the girl child is undeniably one of the paramount contributions one can make for the nation’s bright future. It is this thought that has inspired all participants to come forward to help support the ‘DARE TO CARE’ initiative.

Artworks of Modern Masters such as Ram Kumar, Atul Dodiya, RameshwarBroota, Manu Parekh, Gieve Patel, Dhruv Mistry, KS Radhakrishnan among 50 others will be auctioned at the fundraiser on 19 April 2013.
