Sneha Bags Best Actor Award 2012
92.7 BIG FM, Chennai’s No. 1 Melody station and winner of the Golden Mikes Broadcaster of the Year Award, celebrated the incredible success of Tamil women entertainers with the BIG Salute to Tamil Women Entertainers Awards on a balmy Saturday evening at the statuesque Anna Centenary Library.
The awards are a first of its kind initiative to honor women entertainers without whom the entertainment industry would never be complete, and were given away in the fields of Cinema, Television, Music, Media, Dance, Theatre, Debutants and Sports.
The evening was lit up by some stunning performances by actor Sneha as the FACE OF THE AWARDS, former Miss Sri Lanka and aspiring actor Chandi Parera, actors Tanisha Singh, Dhanshika, Sandhya and Vijayalakshmi. All of them had the audience in their grip and kept them thoroughly entertained. The show was choreographed by Gayatri Raghuram.
The Big Salute to Women Entertainer for acting went to Sneha while the Lifetime achievement in acting was given to Sachu.
The Lifetime Achievement for Dance was presented to Chitra Visveswaran and in music to K.S. Chitra.
Actors Radhika Sarath Kumar, Kushboo Sundar, Suhasini Maniratnam and Shruthi Hassan and squash star Deepika Pallikal also bagged awards in other categories.

The Awards are part of the premier Radio station’s national initiative across seven regional markets. Voting was conducted by 92.7 BIG FM through various on ground promotions and on-air voting, sms and online.
Cinema and Television categories were directly put to popular voting on the network for listeners to select their favorite women entertainers.
Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Thangarajan, Cluster Head (Tamil Nadu), 92.7 BIG FM, said: “It was a memorable occasion that brought together the past and the present, the lifetime achievers and the young stars, across eight different fields. This is probably the first time that we have a property mounted on such a grand scale to celebrate the success and pay tribute to the women entertainers across so many categories. It was a celebration that we at 92.7 BIG FM are proud to be part of.”
