‘You Know What Should Be The #1 Career Choice Of The Young Blood; Merchant Navy,’ says Capt Sunil Nangia, while announcing the upcoming 12th Sailor Today Sea Shore Awards, 2013.

Capt Sunil Nangia, Master Mariner and Editor of Sailor Today Magazine announces the 12thSailor Today Sea Shore Awards, 2013 which is scheduled  on 16th March, an award to recognize and felicitate outstanding achievements and contributions of Seafarers, Shipping Companies and Maritime Organizations.

Having given an outstanding contribution to Merchant Navy himself, Capt Sunil Nangia expresses his love for the profession and encourages the young blood of India, i.e. today’s Generation to make Merchant Navy #1 Career Choice.

He informs, “Merchant Navy is the name given to the commercial shipping industry. The Merchant Navy Fleet operates worldwide including a variety of specialized ships such as containers, cargo, oil, gas, chemical tankers, which ship essential commodities like ores, grain, coal etc. It also includes some of the most prestigious cruise companies in the world and hi – tech ferries carrying millions of passengers each year.’

He further elaborates, highlighting the reason why one should opt for a career in Merchant Navy, “You are paid while you learn. It`s an unmissable chance to travel the world, your days are not only challenging but rewarding and there is a lifetime of growth and personal development opportunities.”

Captain Sunil Nangia with utmost dedication towards his work and the Merchant Navy talks about the intricacies involved in being a Merchant Mariner, “Seafarers work in two departments; Navigation and Engineering. The education and Training for each discipline is a mixture of Academic work combined with Practical Training at University and at Sea. Seafaring certification and qualifications give you a wealth of opportunity and security.”
