Y-Star CTPL to produce Jayalalithaa biopic!

The success story of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa seems to have fascinated several filmmakers to make movies inspired by her life.

Y-Star Cine & Television Pvt Ltd has now decided to produce ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’ , a biopic on one of India’s most mercurial political leaders who passed away in December 2016. The movie will be Trilingual film to be made in Hindi ,Tamil & Telugu, produced by Aditya Bharadwaj and Co produced by Aishwarya Pratap Singh Chauhan from Royal Family of Chota Udaipur.

Says Producer  Aditya Bharadwaj “It took almost a year  for the detailed research about her life and her journey, from a popular actress to a much loved powerful politician. Y star was working on this subject , when Jayalalithaa (Aka AMMA) was alive and after she passed away we had to speed up the project  to make her alive again. The biopic is a Tribute to respected   “AMMA”. Her story is  so fascinating and inspiring that it deserves to be told. Right now, we are in the process of finalising the lead cast. We will be soon making an official announcement.”

Adds co-producer Mr. Aishwarya Pratap Singh Chauhan “Respected J Jayalalithaa was one of India’s most influential and colourful politicians we have had till now. Everyone knows the kind of  humongous followers she had, who loved her to death. She is still an inspiration for Indian women. It will be a delight for the audience to see a biopic on her.”

 ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’  is one of the most ambitious and Mega Movie produced by Y-star cine & Television  Pvt Ltd, which is scheduled to release in 2018.

Aditya Bharadwaj-led Y-Star have also delved into unconventional subjects including award winning shorts Shatika and Rang Biranga Anaar featuring Dangal actor Badrul Islam, which is set to release soon and feature films including The Last Animal. Iskool Bag, being another interesting feature film from Y-Star is currently into pre-production stage and will go on floors soon.
