WIMPTSEA Organises Seminar Of Sound Recordists, Mahesh Bhatt,Johny Lever Grace The Occasion

The 56 Years old  Western India Motion Picture & Television Sound
Engineers Association organised a seminar for the sound recordists at Sound
City,Veera Desai Road, Andheri (West), Mumbai on 8th October. A
comprehensive Joint Sound Seminar in collaboration with M/s. Shure
Asia Ltd.( Franchise: The Sun Infonet (P) Ltd.)  was the main
discussion with Alan Chang,Andy Chan,Shantanu and Neeraj Chandra. The
topic ” Open discussion on the difficulties of the sound technicians
in their day to day professional lives and eradication of the same for
smooth functioning of the job ” was welcomed and discussed at length
from 11 am till 3 pm with a 30 mts. break for lunch at 1.30 pm.

Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and renowned comedian -actor Jonhy
Lever graced the  occasion along with renowned recordist  Hitendra Ghosh
and over hundred sound recordists from the Bollywood film industry.
B.N. Tiwari, President of WIMPTSEA alongwith his wife Champa Tiwari who is Asia’a first woman sound recordist also graced the occasion and interacted with the sound recordists from Australia and Japan who explained the various techniques of sound to the Indian sound recordists in a sound and visual round which was counter productive and made many new revealations about the new methods which the Hollywood film industry is also adapting these days in their films.
The digital technique of sound recording has changed the scenario of
film-making, thus technical acumen and enhancement can only be
attained by such seminars/workshops only.The Sound Association is on
the move to acquire a place in the International Galaxy of Sound
Engineering.
