Will Imtiaz Ali’s Dekh Indian Circus complete its journey to the Oscars?
After being internationally acclaimed and having won Best Film – Audience Choice award at theBusan Film Festival and best Actor and Actress awards at the New York Indian Film Festival, Dekh Indian Circus has added another feather to its cap by winning the country’s highest honour in the form of 4 national awards for Best Children’s Film, Best Child Actor, Best Actor Jury & Best Actor Jury – Female.
However, it seems like this is not enough for the film. Sources say, “This outstanding work of cinema has a great potential to be India’s official entry to the Oscars. From the script to the acting talent portrayed in the film, everything has the calibre to be recognized at a platform as significant as the Oscars.”
“Everybody who is associated with the film or has watched it at the various award functions, strongly believes that the script is so beautifully written that it can engulf anybody’s attention,” adds the source.
The complete decision lies in the hands of the jury whether Dekh Indian Circus is going to complete its journey to the Oscars or will this be the end of its acclaimation.
Dekh Indian Circus, an entertaining metaphor for rural India’s struggle to access the supposed economic miracle of the nation, Starring Nawazzudin Siddiqui, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Presented by Imtiaz Ali, Directed by Mangesh Hadawale, Produced by Mahaveer Jain, Anil lad and Chirag shah, is now ready to compete in the cut throat world of commercial cinema and thus it will soon be released on the silver screen.
