Vice President’s visit to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

Homi Bhabha was the founder Director of TIFR. The institute is a Centre of Excellence as well as a deemed university awarding degrees for master’s and doctoral programmes.
Vice President Mr. Mohd Hamid Ansari today visited the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research at Colaba, Mumbai and interacted with the faculty and Ph.D students.
Vice President Mr. Mohd. Hamid Ansari along with Governor of Maharashtra Mr. C Vidyasagar Rao and Prof. Mustansir Barma, Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai on September 23, 2014. Prof. Barma apprised Vice President about the activities of the Institute and its contribution to science research.
He also viewed a photo exhibition depicting the journey of the institute founded by late Homi Bhabha.

During the interaction, students and faculty demanded greater recognition as well as opportunities within India to attract more and more bright people to pursue study of pure science as a career.
