Day 2 – Vh1Supersonic, CANDOLIM, GOA, 28th December 2015:
As the sunset this beautiful December day in Goa, the crowds poured in onto the sands of Candolim to witness the spectacle YOU call Vh1Supersonic. Fresh from the memories of a spectacular music experience on day one of Vh1 Supersonic 2015 which witnessed an attendance of thousands of music fans and a rocking after party, music revelers were back for more on day two. Vh1 Supersonic 2015, with its delightful theme ‘You are Supersonic’ that focuses on putting the music fan at the center of everything, delivered on its promise and how!
With names such as BLOT!, Zedd, Don Diablo, Teddy Killers, Joris Vorrn, Nic Fanciuli, Dirtyphonics and others on the list, it was the music fans that brought the festival alive with their insatiable appetite for partying and dancing to each and every beat that hit the note in Candolim. The sands of Candolim reverberated not just with the sonic boom of music but also with the chants of music lovers surrendering to the power of music.
The day began at the stroke of one as Akshit Shetty VS Benz dueled it out on the Laboratoire Supersonic stage. The strains of their beats spread far and wide starting the day on a banging note and getting fans in the mood to party for the rest of the day. Soon, music lovers were treated to some cool Indian talent such as BLOT!, one of India’s foremost underground electronic music and mixed media performance and production outfits; Jaipur based artist Sound Avatar with his earth rattling productions and connoisseur and lifelong student of music Vachan Chinapa.
Music fans were ready to cheer on their favourites armed with flags, neon lights, posters and flower crowns. And did we mention the sheer number of selfies and groupfies that were taken on day two? It was these very fans who went ‘supersonic’ in their hustle to document each memorable moment for posterity.
Also setting the stage on fire with their resounding crescendos were some of the biggest names from the international dance music circuit such as Sultan and Shepard a Canadian electronic music duo who collaborate in record production, songwriting, and remixing – who added a whole new level of awesomeness to the evening. However, it was one of the finest exports from UK’s thriving electronic music scene – Nic Fanciuli who sent the fans in a tizzy of dance infused madness. Setting the cogs of time in motion on the iconic steampunk Iron Heart stage were musical giants Don Diablo and Zedd who unleashed wave after wave of supersonic beats that mesmerized throngs of music lovers who couldn’t think of anything else but surrendering to the music. A poignant moment emerged when the fans swayed to the music, united in their love for the beat…all hands up, with boys carrying girlfriends on their shoulders to give them a better view over the thousands of heads that swung to the music as one.
Excited with a great turn out for the second day of the event, Jaideep Singh, Senior EVP and Business head- LIVE Viaocm18 said, “We at Live Viacom18 have relentlessly worked towards turning Vh1 Supersonic into an unforgettable experience for each and every one attending this event – be it the music fans or the artists. With all the hard work that they’re putting in on entertaining the hordes of crowds gathered at the various stages on the sands of Candolim, the artists were also seen winding down with their own little party backstage at an exclusive ‘Artists’ Village’ that’s been set up just for them. When not chilling backstage or playing upstage, they’ve also been supporting fellow artists by joining the music fans on ground. Now that’s what it’s like to party at Vh1 Supersonic 2015!
While day two was a total banging success, fans are already gearing up for day three. While rushing to the after party, furious plans are in progress for cramming in everything from sight-seeing, partying and deciding which stage and which artist to tune in to on day three and with choices such as Tuhin Mehta, Joran Van Pol, Norman Doray, Deorro, Culture Shock, Luigi Madonna in front of them, it’s proving to be more difficult than ever!
