UNIVERSAL MUSIC INDIA, THE OFFICIAL LABEL PARTNER FOR INDIAN IDOL 6, TO RELEASE SPECIAL INDIAN IDOL WINNERS ALBUM, ‘INDIAN IDOL THE FABULOUS FOUR’
~ Composer Shameer Tandon come together with legendary Bollywood Lyricist Sameer to jam up with the Indian Idol finalists – Amit, Devendra & Vipul to create a brand new single ‘Pal’ ~
Leading music label, Universal Music India, along with acclaimed Bollywood composer, Shameer Tandon, legendary songwriter Sameer and the top three voices of India selected as the finalists of the biggest reality TV show, ‘Indian Idol 6’. Finalists Amit Kumar, Devendra Pal Singh and Vipul Mehta come together to create a mesmerising song ‘Pal’, which captures the moment of victory and celebration with a touch of romance, a track to which the youth will relate.
‘Pal’ maps out the poignant journey of the contestants throughout their term on Indian Idol 6. It evokes the emotions they’ve felt, hardships they’ve gone through and the memories they’ve gathered on the show. ‘Pal’ will be premiered as the ‘Indian Idol Winners single’ at the penultimate episode of Indian Idol 6 and will air on Sony Television on 25th August 2012.
The team met today at a live jamming session to record the single. The single will have three different renditions sung by each one of the contestants. Each finalist will record a separate version of the song based on their voice, range and personality. Sharing his views on the same, Shameer Tandon said, “Devendra, has a nice soft feel to his voice and will be recording a piano acoustic guitar version to suit his vocals. Vipul, who is versatile and expressive has been assigned a heavier rock version where as for Amit who has a nice bold tone with mature inflections will be doing a dance version”.

I am as excited as the rest of the nation to see the outcome on the Grand Finale episode of Indian Idol. For the first time in 6 years, Indian Idol is working with Universal Music India as their official label partner this year. As their label partner, Universal Music India will also release a special winners’ album with all top 4 contestants, another first for Indian Idol.
With five successful seasons under its belt and the sixth underway, Indian Idol has swept the nation off its feet. It is the best platform for amateur singers to jet-start their singing careers, giving budding talent new hope. Almost at the end of its term, the sixth season of Indian Idol has boiled down to three wide-eyed hopefuls, Amit, Devindra and Vipul. As they prepare to sing their hearts out in front of the nation, competing for the prized position of being the 6th Indian Idol, the trio may already feel like winners, as they will be recording their very own album along with former participant Purvi who was until recently in contention for the prize as well.
