UNIVERSAL MUSIC INDIA RELEASES SONGS OF MALAYALAM MOVIE “FRIDAY”
ON CD, MOBILE, INTERNET & GOOGLE PLAY
Universal Music has entered in to Malayalam Music industry recently and ‘Friday’ is the fourth Malayalam Movie album released by Universal Music in 2012.
P K Prasannan: General Manager: Digital, Universal Music India says “The Music of ‘Friday’ has been released worldwide by Universal Music India Private Limited on CDs, Digital platforms and also as a Mobile Application. This is the first time ever that a Malayalam movie has an exclusive Mobile Application running around it. It’s a 360 degree android application which includes info on the movie, the music, the images, etc. The mechanism of this mobile application is such that one can not only listen to the songs but also sing along with the karaoke tracks. Another unique feature is the availability of the lyrics while the tracks are playing. Friday ‘1 Day Many stories’ free as well as paid apps are available on Google play store globally from 9th August onwards.
Script writer Najim Koya says “The film ‘Friday’ revolves around the magical date 11/11/11. Interestingly, the date fell on a Friday when the world as a whole was excited and waiting for something different to happen. The film tracks the lives of some people who arrive at Alappuzha on a particular Friday.”
The director Lijin Jose says “There are 48 characters featuring in this film and all of them are known faces from the Malayalm film industry. Even though there may be small characters, they will all be remembered by the people.”
There are four songs in the film. Lyrics have been penned by Beeyar Prasad, music by Roby Abraham and BGM by Rex Vijayan.
