UNIVERSAL MUSIC INDIA BRINGS TO YOU KARTIKI GAIKWAD’S FIRST DEVOTIONAL ALBUM ‘DINACHA SOYRA PANDURANG’ – THE ALBUM WAS LAUNCHED BY SENA PRAMUKH BALASAHEB THACKERAY

Universal Music India introduces the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs 2008-09, Kartiki Gaikwad’s first devotional album ‘Dinacha Soyra Pandurang’. The album was launched by Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray on Sunday 15th April 2012 in the presence of the little star herself and Mandar Gupte, CFO, Universal Music India.

The album comprises of four tracks of devotional poetry in praise of the Hindu god Vitthala (abhang) and four tracks of Goulan. The lyrics of the songs are taken from the scriptures of renowned saints Sant Tukaram, Sant Namdeo, Sant Eknath and other respective saints. The music is composed by Kalayanji Gaikwad and the album is arranged by Kamlesh Bhadkamkar.

Talking about the album Kartiki Gaikwad said, “Dinacha Soyra Pandurang’ is my first devotional album and it’s very close to my heart. I would like to thank everyone associated with it and really hope that this album is loved by all.”

To her credit, the little champs 2008-09 winner has won various awards namely Maharashtra Shasan and Pimpari Mahanagarpalika – 2009, Kusumatai Chavan Award – Nanded – 2009, Marathwada Special Award – 2009 and Maharani Tararani Award , Pune – 2010. She has also sung for two films Yamachya Gavala Jauya and Maitree ,  Marathi/Hindi dramas and the album Aathwa Swar.

On this occasion, Mandar Gupte, CFO, Universal Music India said, “Universal Music India had committed to release Kartiki’s first solo album right when she was declared the winner of Marathi Saregamapa Li’l Champs in 2009. The devotional album which is entirely composed by her father Shri Kalyanji Gaekawad has abhangs written by renowned saints of Maharashtra. Kartiki comes out as a mature singer at such a young age in rendition of these songs. We are very thankful to Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray for removing some time out from his busy schedule. We look forward to huge acceptance by the audience for this album.”
