A romantic comedy, Meri Shaadi Karao, is the story of Kalyan Singh, who has lovingly raised his brother’s son Gurdeep. Gurdeep Singh is going to get married to Radhika. His foster father Kalyan Singh arranges this union as he sees this opportunity to rekindle his past love, who happens to be Radhika’s mother.
Meri Shaadi Karao is a debut movie of Gurdeep Mehndi Son of famous popular singer Daler Mehndi. Daler Mehndi feels very proud to launch his son with this movie. “He is proud of the fact that he is giving the first original sardaar hero to Bollywood, says Daler Mehndi.”
This is for the first time that Hindi cinema will see an original sardar playing the protagonist. So far only actors have donned a sardar’s look on screen but it will be great to see an original sardar in the film. I am representing my community and it is a great moment for our community,” said Gurdeep.
The 23-year-old is even more excited about the fact that his entire family has contributed in his debut film.The debut film will see his entire family’s contribution. His mom is playing a small role in the film, his sister has sung a song and the film is presented by his proud father Daler Mehndi.
“It wasn’t a conscious effort though but things fell in place on its own,” Gurdeep said.
Kalyan Singh harbours a secret unrequited love for his college mate Preetam who married, someone else many years ago. By a quirk of fate he comes to know that his old love had been divorced and is looking for a good marital match for her daughter Radhika. Seeing this as an opportunity to meet his old love again he hatches a plan to get Gurdeep married to Radhika. What starts as a well-intentioned union soon spirals into a comedy of errors as the film reaches its climax.
