Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi meets with Maharashtra CM
The Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today met with the Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai to discuss various issues related to minority empowerment. This was a follow-up meeting of Mr. Naqvi, who had earlier held a detailed discussion with Maharashtra Minister Eknath Khadse and senior offcials of the state looking after minority welfare issues.
Mr. Naqvi said, the government plans to develop THREE municipal corporations in Maharashtra, as ‘Model Municipal Corporations for Minority Empowerment’. The state government shall identify the cities based on variety of yardsticks including concentration of minority population. Mr. Naqvi expressed satisfaction about the outcome of the meeting and said Maharashtra’s young Chief Minister has taken right steps in the direction of development. About the minority reservation, the Minister said, some political parties use it as an election tool to garner votes, and reiterated that his government is committed to all round growth of all the people.
