Tom Bateman: It’s an honour to work with Liam Neeson in Cold Pursuit
Actor Tom Bateman, who will be seen in Hans Petter Moland’s Cold Pursuit, loved sharing the screen with superstar Liam Neeson. The actor says that he feels lucky to have worked with him. “I have never worked with Liam Neeson before. I have been, obviously as everyone else, a huge fan of his work. It’s a joy to meet him and work in scenes with him. He’s so powerful (on camera), without doing anything and then as soon as they call cut, he’s the first person to smile and laugh. He’s a gentle, wonderful man and it’s an honour to know him as a person, let alone as an actor,” he says.
Meanwhile, Bateman is in love with the genre of the film and says that the story is a mix of humour with tragedy. “What I love about this project is its style. It’s so fun. When I first read it, I thought this is a tragic and a dark film and then comedy started to creep in and I didn’t know whether to laugh or not. At first glance, it is very funny but it has a really fine line and never forget the grief element in the film, the hardship that the lead character goes through, which often films do. Once they start going into comedy, they forget the heart of the film. Once you lose that, you lose everything. I think through Liam and Laura’s performance, it drives that through the movie. ” he says.
Cold Pursuit is a remake of 2014 Norwegian film In Order Of Disappearance, which was also directed by Moland.
