Thematic calendar, 2013 – Towards Gender Equality
Dear friends,
All of us are deeply disturbed about the violence against women which has always existed but which is making news like never before. We are also witness to how the fight against this violence is being taken up in isolated ways without paying any attention to the patriarchal structure in which all of us are enmeshed. Matters are made worse by the sexist and irresponsible statements made by those in authority and those who have mass following. In this scenario women’s rights activists have a major role and responsibility to place a comprehensive gender perspective in the public domain on the issue of violence against women.
In this context, the Women Development Cell of Dr. Ambedkar college, Opp. Wadala Bus Depot,Mumbai – 400 031 has produced a full sized (15’’ by 19”) thematic calender, 2013 titled Towards Gender Equality. Its twelve colour pages (one for each month) tackles a different aspect of women’s oppression with a collage of appropriate paper cuttings with a constant theme running through all the pages – Women’s Rights are Human Rights.
The calendar is available at a discounted price of Rs. 100\- and can be picked up from the college or can be sent by courier on cheque payment of Rs. 100 plus sufficient courier charges favoring Principal, Dr. Ambedkar college of Comm. & Eco., Mumbai – 31.
