India’s most glamorous racing event for those celebrating power and success was held on        February 2 & 3 at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai –

The McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby 2013 was by every means, a smashing hit! Breathtaking fashion, exhilarating race and an absolutely unexpected twist of events in terms of the winning horse made the Signature Derby nail bitingly exciting! The McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby 2013 race was won by ‘Superstorm’ owned by Mr. Rajesh Narredu, trained by Mr. Satish Narredu and jockeyed by Mr. Jimmy Fortune. The Signature Derby was held at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on February 2nd and 3rd, 2013.


This year, all records were broken as 27,143 people attended the McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby 2013!

McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby 2013 featured a host of fun-filled and breath-taking performances by celebrated and renowned artists that pumped up everyone’s adrenaline. Scott Barnes, the coveted international make-up artist created his signature look ‘The Glow’ on various celebrities like Aditi Rao Hydari, super model Laxmi and many more. He showcased interesting makeovers on the Indian skin tone. His work with Jennifer Lopez gave birth to the monochromatic look featuring bronzed skin and pale lips which got him much critical acclaim.

Also known as ‘The’ fashion destination, designers Rocky S & Pria Kataaria showcased their uber-stylish line during this weekend extravaganza. On February 2nd, 2013, Pria Kataaria Puri displayed her ‘Red Carpet collection’ and on February 3rd, 2013, Rocky S showcased his extravagant chic collection with Romance combined with sex appeal in harmony with a sparkling touch of glamour giving it a very high fashion look. A host of socialites like Nisha JamVwal, Atul Kasbekar, Sherlyn Chopra, Yohan Poonawalla, Michelle Poonawalla and many more came in especially for the fashion shows even as Achla Sachdev choreographed all the shows.

Also performing were the ‘Blade Babes’, a glamorous trio of female martial art experts demonstrating their skills with live weapons in an acrobatic style. Blade Babes showed dynamic female physicality through a new vision of martial arts. It featured champion martial artists, Cecily Fay, Zara Phythian, and Helen Bailey. Also featured was “So you think you can dance” finalist Lizzie Gough.

Jinjo Crew, an innovative dance group performed at the McDowell Signature Premier Indian Derby 2013.  They are a South Korean dancing sensation group known for their B-boying and hip hop moves.

Not leaving the musical aspect far behind, the Bangalore based band ‘One Nite Stand’ enthralled the audience with their music. Known for their lively and energetic performances, this is a band that is now recognized as one of Bangalore’s most touted young bands. The band comprised Behram (Vocals/Bass Guitar), Hemanth (Guitars), Neville (Piano) and Abhilash (Drums).
