The first ever International Gujarati Film Festival is going to be held at New Jersey, USA from 3rd to 5th August 2018. The one of its kind film festival accepts and invites entries from makers of Feature Film, Short Film & Documentary Film. The language of the film must be Gujarati.  

Regular entries will be closed on 10th May 2018. All entries will be closed on 30th May 2018. He Festival is on Film Freeway, world’s largest online platform. Out of all entries 1st preview will happen on film freeway online portal which is world’s safest platform for film makers. Selected final films will be screened at New Jersey during the festival. Selected films for the final competition will be rewarded with IGFF Award. Selected films will be provided 1 return ticket to New Jersey with stay. The festival will have opening film & closing film followed by closing ceremony.

About Festival Director:
SHRI UMESH SH UKLA is an acclaimed Director, Write r & Actor f or many Gujarati Plays & Bollywood Films. He made his directorial de but with UTV Moti on Pictures and directed film like OH M Y GOD, ALL IS WELL & His upcoming release 102 NOT O UT coming up with legendary actors Shri Amitabh Bachchan & Rishi Ka poor. His blockbuster film O h My God was adopted from his own Gujarati play Kanji v/s Kanji. Which was later re ma ke in to Telugu & Kannada Language.

About the Jury:
Jury members of the first ever International Gujarati Film Festival consist of very renowned and much-loved celebrities from both Gujarati & Hindi Entertainment Industry.
1. ArunaIrani: Smt Aruna Irani is most versatile Film Actress who acted in more than 300 films in Hindi, Gujarati & Marathi cinema. She was honoured with 57th Film fare Lifetime achievement award (2012).

2. Jay Vasavada : Shri Jay Vasavada is one of the most popular authors, Orator & noted proponent of cinema. His versatile columns (especially ‘Spectrometer’ and ‘Anavrut’) covering various aspects of society and culture is running in “Gujarat Samachar”. In 2010, he has been honoured by Govt. of Gujarat on Independence Day for his outstanding contribution in the field of writing.

3. Anurag Mehta: Shri Anurag Mehta is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles who writes and directs films, commercials, music videos and TV. His feature AMERICAN CHAI, starring Paresh Rawal, won the Audience Award at the SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL.

4. Madhu Rye: Shri Madhu Rye is a Gujarati playwright, novelist, and story writer. He started writing in the 1960s and became known for his stories and plays. His plays Phool Nu Naam and Kumar Ni Agashi have been adapted into  several languages and his adaptations of “Pygmalion” and Sleuth” have earned him acclaim. His novel Kimble Ravens wood was loosely adapted into a Hindi TV series Mr. Yogi and later fashioned into a Hindi film What’s Your Rashee? With his writing he has won not only hearts but also many accolades.

International Gujarati Film Festival is a film festival that aims at the promotion of the Gujarati Culture & Cinema on a wider scale. The film festival serves the community of Gujarati cinema by putting forth the immense talent and help attribute splendour to the populace which has long been under- appreciated. Through a series of a wards, the f estival also provides filmmakers with the opportunity to indulge with a professional network and help g row their knowledge of the International cinematic trends.

Objective of IGFF
With the filmmakers and regional cinema ex posed as the main protagonists, the IG FF is the fir st International Gujarati film festival of India to take place in USA. With all the attention of movie-goers limited to Bollywood and mainstream cinema, IGFF comes as a breath of fresh air  for Gujarati filmmakers and the Gujarati movie industry as it poses to be a festival that celebrates film content without language posing as hurdle. IG FF has one goal, to show that a Gujarati Cinema has the potential of creating scripts and movies which can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other  movie industry.
The initiative of the film festival is made by Mr.Kaushal Acharya – Rostrum Media and 1947 Production and Entertainment Inc.
