Sharing her thoughts on the launch of this foundation, she said, “The idea behind ARTSCAPE is to use the Performing Art Forms as an alternative approach to recovery, healing and psychological rehabilitation of survivors of any kind of trauma – physical or emotional.”

In addition to this, ARTSCAPE runs its ‘Care for Cancer Initiative’, which attempts to integrate a complementary music program in supportive cancer care which accompanies the medical treatment. Regular Music and Meditation Sessions are held at Cancer Rehabilitation Homes like ACTREC, St Judes and Nana Palkar Smriti Samiti. These Sessions are targeted at the patients as well as the Caregivers with the aim to promote physical and emotional well-being. These sessions are initiated with some Music therapy which also included Om chanting followed by Light therapy and other mindful meditation practices. Vaishali Tare, a reiki master and healer conducts the Light therapy at these sessions. The idea is to invoke a sense of relief and motivation in the participants and create an insightful of self-healing in the cancer patients.
