Tata housing and Mudra Max introduced the renowned Pakistani band Raga Boyz – Wali Ali Khan , Nayab Ali Khan and Inam Ali Khan. The 9th generation of the Patiala family of classical music and sons of Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, enthralled the crowd with their live performance on various songs including tracks from their debut album “Ye Jaan Lo” and their upcoming record “Zindagi” at Bandra Fort on Sunday, 19th February 2012.
The lineage of Raga Boyz goes back to Ustad kaluji, darbar gayake of Maharaja Bhupindar Singh followed by his sons and the greatest singers of their era, Ustad General Ali Baksh and Ustad Barey Fateh Ali Khan, both of whom were awarded with the title of general and colonel of music. The legacy of the this family continued with descendants, and the pioneers of the modern classical singing, Ustad Aashiq Ali Khan, Ustad Akhtar Hussain Khan and his sons Ustad Amanat Ali khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and living legend Ustad Hamid Ali Khan.
As the 9th generation of Patiala’s royal splendors beacons, they carry on the legacy. The brother quadrant band is the transformation of legacy into today’s modern singing, while maintaining their forefather’s great contribution in eastern music. The tedious sessions of riyaz and phenomenal creativity chiseled the voices that shot Raga Boyz into the lime light. So far the band has already performed and gained love from their fans all around the globe. The band’s forte is that they perform all sorts of music- Pop, Rock, R & B, Heavy Metal, Sufi, Classical, Fusion amongst others, however their general emphasis is on Classical music. Raga Boyz showcased this talent of theirs and performed at the highest caliber in Mumbai today.
On this occasion, the lead vocalist Wali Ali Khan said, “Kala Ghoda was a great experience in Mumbai for us and we were hoping for a similar response here. But the crowd outdid our expectations and was completely enthralled by our performance”.
