The actress further adds, “There was a sequence where I had to interact with Abhay, and he too joked with me and said, “Here’s an easy trick to look comfortable. Just flirt with me in the shot.” Good advice I’d say! It worked.”

Known for her exceptional performance in Tanu Weds Manu, Listen Amaya and the very recent YRF’s ‘Aurangzeb’ , Swara Bhaskar next release is “Raanjhanaa” directed by Aanand L Rai. The film which also stars Sonam Kapoor, Dhanush and Abhay Deol is slated to release on 21st June 2013.
Swara’s forthcoming films include “Sabki Bajegi Band” directed by Anirudhh Chawla and “Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai” directed by Debaloy De.
Swara Bhaskar starred in ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ as Payal, for which she was awarded the Zee Cine Award for the Best Supporting Actor (Female) and was nominated for the Filmfare, Screen, Apsara, Stardust and IIFA awards for the same category in 2012. Swara debuted in a 2010 release as the female lead in the film ‘Madholal Keep Walking’, a film directed by Jai Tank.
She has previously appeared in 2008 music video ‘Teri Justajoo’ by Roop Kumar Rathod as well as many popular TV commercials such as the recent Tara Jewellers first TV campaign, the Sprite commercial where she played the role of a violin teacher, series of ICICI bank ads with actor Sumeet Raghavan, Tanishq (Diwali commercial), Tata Tea Jaago Re, Britannia Nutrichoice diabetes biscuits, Bajaj Allainze life insurance, Berger Paints (Bangladesh), Manjal Soap (Marico- Tamilnadu & Kerala), Lava Mobiles, Star Plus, Ramdev Hing Masala.
Born and brought up in Delhi, Swara has done B.A. Honors in English literature from Miranda house, Delhi University and Masters in sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Swara is also a trained dancer in Bharatanatyam. A student of Guru Leela Samson, she has performed with her troupe Spanda, extensively. She was associated with IPTA (Indian Peoples Theatre Association) – the Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi) chapter and has also trained with N.K Sharma and his troupe ACT ONE, in Delhi.
