SWARA BHASKAR FEELS RESPONSIBLE AND A PROUD CITIZEN BY VOTING

Swara Bhaskar had gone last morning to vote in the Delhi State Assembly elections but then got to know that her name was not on the voting list. The Raanjhanaa actress was very disheartened as she was looking forward to vote for Change this time. Later, last evening Swara’s mother found their new voting id’s which was unknown to Swara as she has been living in Mumbai for the past few years. As soon as Swara got her id she rushed to the polling booth and voted.

On this occasion, Swara expressed, “I felt terrible last morning when I thought my voters id had been cancelled and I couldn’t vote. I was feeling awful, there was such a sense of purpose and collective there in the polling booth, and i felt left out and strangely guilty!

My mother too was disappointed but unlike me she did not give up! She investigated, searched and found the new voters ids that I didn’t know existed as I’ve been in living in Bombay these past few years. By the time my mother found them, it was 4pm and  she and i rushed to the polling booth and voted!! 🙂 We both felt SO good and part of India’s democratic process and settled down to a well deserved cup of tea each! :)”
