PTC’s Rajiee M Shinde interpreted the wins like this: “The fact that two singers who have sung mostly for Bollywood films have won the major musical awards for Punjabi Films is a good sign. An infusion of Bollywood talent into Punjabi films will extend their appeal to the other Hindi Speaking Markets where Bollywood films are traditionally popular. It will also, gradually, mean a bigger and better reach for the wonderful Punjabi musical talent we have, and will help raise the creative bar for films in both, Hindi and Punjabi.”
