Star studded Mahurat of Hindi feature film “Darta Hai Kyu”

Stars descended at a packed suburban multiplex to grace the Mahurat Shot of a unique and quirky film, Darta Hai Kyu to be directed by debutant, Rajesh Bhardwaj. Chief Guest, Celebrated Actor, Director and Producer, Arbaaz Khan, marked the start of the journey with the ceremonious first clap. Rati Agnihotri, Alok Nath, Raajpal Yadav, Rajendra Gupta, Navni Parihar and Avtar Gill – part of the cast members along with Director Rajesh Bhardwaj were also present to grace the occasion.

The brief scene shot at the Mahurat, captured a dialogue between Avtar Gill and Lead Cast & Director, Rajesh Bhardwaj, gives a glimpse into the quirky feature that will soon go on floors.

The title ‘Darta Hai Kyu’, may sound like a drama or a thriller but this is where the film will start surprising you even before the shoot starts. ‘Darta Hai Kyu’ is a comedy about hair loss and how this little problem has taken the Men’s world by a storm, across section.  Media World with its first project promises to deliver a unique conceptual story of a middle class man and his persistent problem of hair fall.

The film tries to address the issues and insecurities related to this widely prevalent and commonplace problem of hair loss through a witty narrative. The main protagonist deals with love, friends, girlfriend, family, career etc. along with the genuine and pivotal problem of hair fall, very early on in his life.

“I was looking for an idea for a comedy film. I was very sure I wanted to start my journey in Bollywood with a genuine unique idea, not just recycle what is already been done. That is how the idea of ‘Darta Hai Kyu’ came to me. This film addresses the most widespread insecurity in the Urban man, one problem we all observe but are scared to speak about- The issue of hair loss. The film intends to address this wide spread insecurity in a lighter note. We want people to realize, Bhai baal hi hain yaar, Darta Hai Kyu.”

Rajesh Bhardwaj has established himself as bankable director in advertising. He relocated to Mumbai two years back and within such a short span he has directed numerous ad films with brands like Microtek, Kesh king, Paras Pan Masala etc. He has worked with celebrities like Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, Arbaaz Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Amrita Rao, Tina Dutta, Gurmeet Choudhary, Shweta Tiwari and Brett Lee, in ad films.

Guest of Honour, Director and actor Arbaaz Khan said, “I have known Rajesh for quite some time now. He has a great artistic sense and is aware of the pulse of the audience. In a very short span of time, his Ad firm, Media World, has already made a mark in a market like Mumbai. I am sure he will do the same in the cinema world, especially with a topic like this. It is a brilliant idea and the audience will be bound to take notice as this problem is there in every second house. I wish him all the best.”

‘Darta Hai Kyu’ will hit the floors in September. Principal photography will be done in Mumbai, Delhi and Vadodara.
