COLORS latest offering Gathbandhan has struck a chord with its viewers with its unconventional love story of Dhanak and Raghu. The central character i.e Savitri Bai also known as Mai in the show is winning hearts of the audience with her strong personality and quirkiness. Just like her onscreen character, in real life too Savitri is a mother like figure to the cast of Gathbandhan as she pampers all of them with her sweet gestures.
Sources from the set say that, Sonali Naik is a very lively person who is always motivating people and spreads a positive vibe around the set. When it comes to having a camaraderie with the cast and crew, she is a friend and advisor to all. She is loved by all for her understanding and caring nature. The lead actors Shruti and Abrar fondly refer to her as Mai off camera too, as they seek her advice on various aspects of life and acting. Abrar also takes Marathi lessons from her to get the dialect of his character better. She also gets authentic Marathi food for the entire cast during shoot days which is loved by all.
Sonali Naik seems to enjoy this motherly role on and off screen. Expressing her joy she said, “I love the time we spend on the set and we are a family who loves to eat, shoot and have fun together. As we spend most of our time away from home and everyone gets tired of outside food I try and make sure, that I take time out and I make authentic Maharashtrian food for the whole team. We all sit and eat together just like one big happy family and it brings immense joy and happiness as I love cooking for my kiddos on set.”
