Solid Patels will tease in 550 screens in US & Mexico!
Saurabh Varma’s Solid Patels’ teaser has created an impact with the Indian film trade, and has also managed to generate interest from some overseas territories. While the teaser merely gives a glimpse of what the film’s look and feel is, it surely looks promising from a family entertainment stand point, with a clear youth bias.
“Comedy is a universal genre as far as a film’s entertainment appeal is concerned, and hence it was anticipated that Solid Patels will strike an early chord with the film trade. However, going by the response from some leading film trade personalities, it is quite likely that the film will be able to easily sail through the IPL wave when it releases in April’ 24th” says, Ashish Saxena , COO Big Cinemas.
Inox Leisure CEO Alok Tandon maintains, “It is an encouraging trend and we are happy to see that the audiences are responding so positively to the teaser of a film, which has a young and a new star cast. The trailer has been liked by all, specially kids”.
Mike Speath, a leading North America film distributor adds, “The teaser of Solid Patels was quite refreshing and I anticipate a release in the US which should be comparable to mainstream Bollywood films. The teaser played in around 100 odd cinemas in the US against PK. The audience in this part of the world are now looking for differentiated entertainment and SP seems to be just that.
The producers Krian Media are ecstatic with the response. Says Raj Malik, Senior Vice President Production and Distribution, Krian Media, “We are thrilled by the feedback the teaser has received, although we know that it’s still early days. We are hoping that the next trailer will create a bigger buzz among the audience since it will reveal more. Our plans to give the film a big release in Non NRI markets are gaining momentum, and there are enquiries pouring in. Solid Patels will release on 550 screens in North America alone”.
Solid Patels starring Shiv Pandit, Shazahn Padamsee, Ali Asgar, Manoj Joshi, Kettan Singh, Vaishali Desai and others has been produced by Krian Media and is slated for a April 24th 2015 release.
