Singer Akriti Kakar to perform at Kala Ghoda Art Festival
Starting off from Delhi, Akriti Kakar all of 5 as child prodigy touring the world with Little Stars of Kalyanji Anandji eventually making a mark in the Bollywood Playback scene with chart busters like Johnny Gaddar, Marjaani, Dil Khol Ke let’s rock, Khuda Ya Khair, Abhi Abhi from Jism 2 and many more. Alongside pursuing her original independent music space with her self titled album having bagged the GIMA for best non film album, Akriti Kakar is currently one of the youngest, brightest and most diverse voices of the country be it movies or live performances. Yes it’s true that she’s talented but beautiful too. The sweetness of her voice reflects in her eyes when she performs and spreads romance in the audience. This Diva will be performing at the art hub this year which is none other than the kala ghoda festival, she has taken the initiative of being absolutely innovative since she believes that kala ghoda is a great platform to put forward ones creative side since the audience is open to swallow art in it’s purest form. On touching base with Akriti, she says, ” since the time I’ve moved to mumbai n realized that this is truly the city of my dreams, I’ve been wanting to perform for the city n give it whatever little I can in lieu of what Mumbai has given me. The Kala Ghoda Festival is truly one such platform that I consider apt enough to be able to do so and reach out to my listeners in more than many avatars of my singing. I shall break away from the regular Bollywood music and fuse all genres together ranging from Sufi to western on Feb 10th on the Kala Ghoda stage. I am Extremely excited about showing all my facets playing there with my band amidst the heritage of mumbai.”
