Shrikant Bhasi of Carnival Cinemas bags Outstanding Achievement Award at CMO Asia Multiplex Excellence Awards
At the 6th CMO Asia Multiplex Excellence Awards organised in Singapore on Tuesday Carnival Group Chairman Shrikant Bhasi received Outstanding Achievement Award for making Carnival Cinemas the largest multiplex chain spread across cities in India.
Carnival Cinemas has presence in 89 cities with 344 screens at 122 locations of which 126 screens are in tier- one cities, 55 in tier- two and 163 in tier- three cities of India.
Earlier this year, Shrikant Bhasi promoted Carnival Group had acquired Glitz Cinemas which is a part of Capital 18, a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani’s Network 18 Media and Investments Ltd. followed by Reliance MediaWorks’ Big Cinemas. In July 2014 Carnival Group had acquired HDIL’s Broadway for Rs 110 crore.
Speaking about the success story, Carnival Group chairman Shrikant Bhasi said, “We want to go deeper into the smaller towns and villages and take entertainment to remote areas of India. Carnival Cinemas has a vision to have 3000 screens and we also plan to spread to Middle East and south Asia soon.”
CMO Asia Awards are awarded in partnership with the CMO Council and hosted by the World Brand Congress and recognize organizations for their achievements. The awards are judged by an independent, hi-calibre jury of professionals from across Asia.
