Shri Narendra Modi sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India
New Delhi, May 26, 2014 : Shri Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today. The President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Prime Minister. 23 Cabinet Ministers, 10 Minister of State (Independent Charge) and 12 Minister of State were also sworn in today. For the first time, seven heads of State/Government including the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, President of Sri Lanka, Shri Mahindra Rajpakshe and President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, attended the swearing-in ceremony of an Indian Prime Minister. Former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, newly elected Members of Parliament, Governors, Chief Ministers and other dignitaries also attended the ceremony.
