Shoot of Mega TV Serial “Sadrakshanaay” was in full swing at S.J.Studio, Saki Naka wherein two units with approximately 100 artists were shooting for pilot episode. On one set of police station assistants of director Roopesh Rai Sikand were busy taking shots on various actors in police uniforms, while on other side Roopesh Rai Sikand was busy taking shot on lead actors Rajesh Shringarpure and Anjali Arora with junior artists posing as villagers.
On one side behind monitor producer Narendra Kumar Kaushik who is basically General Manger (Liason/Protocol) in a well known hospital namely Medanta – The Medicity in Gurgaon was watching shots on monitor with curiosity and excitement, we had a brief chat with Kaushik, he said as he belongs to medical field but his father was a DIG so somewhere a life of cop was within him and when he came to know about an IPS officer Krishna Prakash of Ahmednagar who had solved more than 150 cases which were nearly impossible to solve, knowing about his honesty, dedication and sincerity towards his work, Narendra Kumar Kaushik got inspired by him and decided to make this serial on the crimes he solved with his commitment and presence of mind.
We asked director Roopesh Rai Sikand why he choose a subject based on a cops life, he said he has been constantly working in the direction of creating benchmarks in the Film Fraternity across the Nation through his excellent skills & innovative ideas which he has developed so far in the field of Film and Video Direction and when he got a subject which is full of excitement and thrill he couldn’t say no to it, he worked on near about 80 different real life incidents of IPS officer K.P and now is ready with script on it, about title “SADRAKSHANAAY” he says Sadrakshanaay means oath taken by a police officers to protect citizens and this is a serial based on the true story of a one man army cop depicting his hardships, dedication, honesty & modesty towards his duty and country, Sikand added I know there are some serials already on air based on police and crime stories, but this is something different and audience will definitely enjoy it.
We witnessed a sequence being shot on Rajesh Shringarpure character of IPS K Prakash and Anjali Arora in character of ASP Jyotisikha Chaudhary and some junior artist, this was set of Dist Police Head Quarter, where KP enters the corridor of police head quarters in his uniform, some constables salutes him, KP comes in his cabin and ASP Jyothi enters and salutes him.
KP : Very good Jyoti—–u did a wonderful job—–joining ka doosra din aur pehli success—-excellent, plz have a seat.
Jyoti : Par sir abhi kaam poora nahi hua hai. Nepal se layee gayeen yeh nabaligh ladkiyaan, hamare district ke border par bane dhabo par, aur kai zilon k bahar supply hoti hain…………….
KP : hummm…………..ladkiyo ne kuch bataya…………
Jyoti : No sir unki aankho par pattiyan thi (in anger) unme se 3 ko too khud unke baap ne becha tha..
KP’s phone rings, he picks it up and says : haan rattan bolo…………par khabar pakki hai na.
Director Roopesh says cut it and we wished him & producer good luck for his further shoot and left the shooting studio.
