Sheena nourishes the actor within herself with the theaterical project “Navrasa: 9 emotions” by Sundeep Bali

Ever wondered how do people express so well?…

With Sundeep Bali’s project ‘Navarasas – 9 Emotions’ Sheena has depicted the nine emotions which are the essential emotions felt by humans in diverse situations. These pictures have been taken in exotic gardens of Delhi amidst the serene beauty of nature without disquieting the natural elements with an undeviating emphasis on the emotional portrayal.

Sheena believes that the art of acting, of feeling each emotion thereby emoting it, is incomplete without the ‘Navarasa – 9 Emotions of Human Life’. The countless emotions that spring from these basic sentiments are like the constantly rising and falling waves ruled by the winds of change. The Navarasa (9 emotions) are: Shringar (Love), Haasya (Laughter), Raudra (Anger), Karuna (Compassion), Veer (Heroic), Addha-bhootha (Astonishment), Bhay (fear), Shaant (Tranquility) and Bibhatsa (Disgust)
Depicting these 9 emotions is not as easy as it may look because no amount of in-depth knowledge or tools can help nurture a performance. Each of these nine emotions, unless felt deeply, cannot be captured at ease. Sheena has managed to emote beautifully from her heart to nurture her acting prowess. She has been  very thankful to  Sundeep Bali for bringing this performance out so beautifully through this campaign.

Asking her about this project and she quirps “Acting is like oxygen for the artist within me so when this project came along, it excited me to perform and learn. I am a learner and something to strong from the view point of performance is one of the best ways to polish my acting skills. Being a theatre artist, performance has a whole new dimension and I hope I have been able to give justice to Sundeep’s project”.
