Little things mean the most. And thus proved Shaan as he enthralled one and all with his infectious enthusiasm on the sets of Gajendra Singh’s Gaurav Maharashtracha at Filmalaya Studios.

“Suresh Wadkar ji is my guru. And it makes me feel so great to be here,” enthused Shaan who was part of the festivities with judge Suresh Wadkar, mentors Anand Shinde and Vaishali Samant and anchor Pallavi Joshi who looked charming in a purple outfit.

Enthused Gajendra Singh, “Gaurav Maharashtracha has been a prestigious project for Saaibaba Telefilms. Every season, we have tried to do something new and novel, and touch newer heights. This current season, the tagline is ‘murti lahan pan kirti mahan’ and we have taken on such kids who never even had a radio or a television set at home and have never seen such shows. Maharashtra is very rich in culture and tradition– there is music in each home and we have tried to bring that culture onto television. There are kids who not only touch your hearts but are also the future of our country. We are thankful to our audience in Maharashtra, Suresh Wadkar, Vaishali Samant to give us a chance to do this show. This season is going to be not just a musical talent show, but one that has different emotions, different stories and different heights.” The show does not aim to be just entertaining, but is also value-based and exciting at the same time and that is reflected in its strong content and slick production values.

The chemistry between the two team captains has added to the show. Vaishali Samant and Anand Shinde have maximum hits between them as duets in the Marathi industry like the latest Komdi, and Anand Shinde’s shayaris are being talked about as much as Vaishali Samant’s sense of humour. The earlier seasons seen lavni by Urmila Matondkar and Raveena Tandon among others and is the first to have a Grand Finale in Dubai.

This year, the expectations are higher and Singh is only too happy to oblige. So can one expect fireworks? “Of course,” smiles Singh. “But for that, you have to wait and watch.”

Saaibaba Telefilms’ Gaurav Maharashtracha is on ETV, every Wednesday- Thursday at 9.30pm, while their other show Bharat Ki Shaan with Ismail Darbar and Usha Uthhup as mentors and anchors is already being talked about, while Sur Kshetra on Sahara One will be on air soon. Looks like Gajendra Singh is all set to change the fate of Indian musical teleshows yet again.
