Sachin Khedekar to play journalist J Dey in Nagrik
Veteran actor Sachin Khedekar will be seen playing the role of Mid Day crime reporter Jyotirmoy Dey in his upcoming Marathi film, Nagrik. Khedekar will play a journalist called Shyam Jagdale who works for a daily called Aaj Mumbai. Due to his honesty, he makes enemies and becomes a victim of politics. The makers do not want to publicise the film as a J Dey biopic and wants to call it a work of fiction to avoid any controversy.
Nagrik is likely to be released around Dey’s death anniversary on June 11. The veteran journalist was murdered in 2011. Produced by Sachin Chavan under Sacchi Entertainment and directed by Jaypraad Desai, Nagrik revolves around the character of a senior reporter caught in a political conspiracy.
