Saand Ki Aankh trailer hits the bull’s-eye
Based on a true story, watch Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar as the Shooter Dadis in Saand Ki Aankh
The awaited biopic Saand Ki Aankh starring Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu is based on the lives of real-life Shooter Dadis (in translation: Shooter Grannies) – Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar.
The trailer shows a sharpshooting training session, where Bhumi’s character perfectly aims and hits a bull’s-eye. Taapsee’s character also tries a hand and shooting and hits a bull’s-eye as well.
Actor Vineet Kumar plays the coach who is impressed by their talent and begins to mentor them for local competitions.
The male family members are against their training sessions and cause trouble but the Shooter Dadis remain hell bent on bringing a change for the daughters of their family and continue to fight for the rights of the women of village.
Saand Ki Aankh is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Reliance Entertainment and Nidhi Parmar. The film is slated to release in cinemas for Diwali on 25th October 2019.

Synopsis: Before 1998, Johri village in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh was just like any other village in India. But during this time something extraordinary started, which took this village to national and international levels of success and fame. As a result of which this village had become an inspiring example for the entire nation.
At the age of 60 they picked up a gun for the sake of their daughters in the hopes of encouraging them towards a bright future. They did not want their daughters to share the same fate of a lifetime of suppression. What unfolded was nothing short of miraculous. They discovered their own skill of being exceptional shooters. Despite all the odds, they won 352 medals each in the course of their veteran professional life as a shooter.
