Kolkata, Paying rich tributes to Satyajit Ray on his 92nd birth anniversary, 92.7 BIG FM Kolkata today celebrated the life and career of India’s greatest filmmaker with a special screening of the director’s much-loved film ‘Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayen’. Organized at Bioscope in Kolkata’s Axis Mall in association with Priya Entertainment Pvt. Ltd (PEPL), the event also witnessed a panel discussion which brought together eminent personalities which included Satyajit Ray’s son Sandip Ray, actors Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Saswata Chatterjee, Chairperson of PEPL & Proprietor of Piyali Films

With retro music, both Bengali and Hindi charming 92.7 BIG FM Kolkata listeners, the station retraced the musical journey of the golden era along with Satyajit Ray’s incredible contribution to the Bengali film industry through an on-air contest called ‘Ak Dojon Satyajit’. Winning listeners from the contest got the unique opportunity to not only watch ‘Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayen’ in a theatre, but also interact with the who’s who of the Bengali film industry. During the course of the panel discussion, Sandip Ray shared some personal experiences along with some never-seen-before photographs of his loving father while actors Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Saswata Chatterjee spoke about Satyajit Ray’s most inspiring work which has in some way influenced their decision to be a part of the entertainment business.
