Located in the heart of India’s Maximum City, in the country’s tallest hotel tower, Luna Nudo poised as a charming venue to very typical English Afternoon tea replete with scones and clotted cream, preserves, petit fours, a plethora of teas and a smorgasbord of wafer slim sandwiches.
The spectacular jewelry for the evening donned by the celebrity women achievers was especially designed by celebrity Jeweler Sawansukha- famed worldwide for dressing the Grammy winning artists chainsmokers recently and even stars on the Oscar red carpet. And yes! His is an eighth generation legacy.
Playing with the evergreen fashion classic – Chantilly, ‘belle âme’, a celebration of the ‘beautiful soul’ shaped an intricate web of delicacy and robustness especially alluring as the celebrators sashayed down the ramp in these masterpieces.
The classic plait trims were replicated in froths of feathers in colors plucked from the flecked tweeds. Feathery aigrettes sprouted from shoulders, chemise dresses frosted with subtly beaded Deco motifs, and pleated sheathes of stiff faille and satin effortlessly draped like a watercourse whirlpool. With each of the perfectly curated pieces letting the excellence of the bespoke lace speak for themselves, Dewan impressed the celebrity brigade with visual amour.
Rebecca Dewan states, “My collection celebrates the self assured successful woman of today who is an embodiment of individualistic style and dares to be different. I started my brand journey with Chantilly and hence this collection will be extraordinary. The transparency of beautiful knitted Chantilly lace lies in the immaculate transparency of the fabric, the way it drapes around corporeal contours and the intricacy of the sutures. The couture is designed with an Indo-British sense of style – with the same flare and attention to detail as the skills of the amazing craftspeople of couture—the feather-makers, the embroiderers, the pleaters, et al.—whose work brings my pulsing imagination and expressionist sketches to life.”
The event ended on a high note with great exuberance as women swooped up ensembles to don through the festive season!
Self-taught fashion entrepreneur who is born and raised in London, ventured into mainstream designing with her eponymous haute couture label in August 2016, couturier Rebecca Dewan has already dressed the likes of Sushmita Sen, Soha Ali Khan, Tanisha Mukherji, Zareen Khan, Saiyami Kher, Mandira Bedi, Daisy Shah, Sunidhi Chauhan, Neha Dhupia, Urvashi Rautela, Ellie Evram, Amyra Dastur and Iulia Vantur.
The Rebecca Dewan brand impresses upon contemporary couture, classic and chic, but more importantly it stands for complete and independent woman, quality being one of the most important facets. Extremely experimental with her designs, Dewan believes in promoting regional handicrafts and workmanship from rural parts of India like Benares, Lucknow, and the appliqué and patchwork of Gujarat, amongst other initiatives. She effortlessly displays a contemporary edge to high-end ethnic couture, and is constantly reinventing and redefining the fashion boundaries through her designs.
Rebecca’s collections are inspired by her global escapades with her innings in luxury being an extension of her innate passion for fashion.
