In its attempt to give wide release to regional National Award winning films, PVR Director’s Rare is bringing Malayalam film Names Unknown (Perariyathavar) by Dr. Biju Kumar Damodaran in theatres on December 12th across India. ‘Names Unknown’ was bestowed with two National Awards in 2013 – National Film Award for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation & National Film Award for Best Actor(Suraj Venjaramoodu).

Names Unknown tells the story of marginalized people in Kerala through the life of a father and his eight year old son. The father works as a temporary sweeper and along with Chami, his friend & fellow worker, he collects garbage from the city streets into a vehicle and dumps at a rural village.

They both belong to a tribal community. During the travel in the garbage truck, the father and son experience the life of many nameless, faceless marginalized people like them in the midst of huge buildings and roaring vehicles.

The movie is directed by Dr. Biju Damodaran, produced by K. Anilkumar from Ambalakkara Global Films and stars Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrans in the lead role. Other than the main actors, many characters in the film were real people from the street of Kerela.
