Priyanka Chopra and Olympic medalist Mary Kom sit on the narration of Bhansali’s next !
Inspired by her climb to the top,producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his biopic based on the life of Olympic medalist Mary Kom to be directed by Omung Kumar Bhandula.
And while Priyanka Chopra was zeroed in ,to essay the highly coveted character,it was only just recently that the actress met with Mary Kom while they sat on the narration of the script.
Talking about the challenge that the role entails says Priyanka, “For me, the most exciting thing is to physically look like Mary. I need to be as fit as her, get hand movements right and also adapt a similar body language. I am not a workout person and I don’t really go to the gym regularly. While I’m really excited to start the training, I’m scared at the same time as Mary’s schedule says three hours of workout, and waking up at 4 in the morning.”
Initially overwhelmed with the suggestion of the biopic ,Mary Kom divulges “
I thought Omung and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were joking. For a moment, I didn’t react. Finally, we started working and had several discussions. Omung came to Manipur and took down my life history”. Adding that “I am very happy and lucky that Priyanka is doing the film”.
