Port connectivity – important for holistic development of the country

Connectivity of Port plays an important role in the holistic development of the country and Indian railway is committed to this cause, said Shri Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Railways. He was speaking at the signing of Memorandum of Understanding function of Roha-Dighi Port Rail connectivity, in Mumbai today. Transportation is a key to Industrialization and railway will develop more connectivity projects all over the country to play an important role in realizing Make- in -India dream of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Prabhu added.
This project will provide good connectivity to the major cities in Maharashtra, resulting in enhance industrial activities and in turn will give impetus to the economic development of the country said Shri Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Railways.
Speaking at the occasion Shri Anant Geete, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises said that Roha –Dighi Port connectivity is the first step towards the fulfilment of Prime Ministers announcement of connecting all the ports in the country.

Maharashtra Government has given clearance to a few more Port projects and speedily working on fullest exploitation of port capacity in the State informed Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Shri Vijay Kalantri, Chairman and Managing Director, DIghi Port Ltd., Shri Satish Agnihotri , Chairman & Managing Director, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. Shri Sunil Kumar Sood, General Manager, Central Railway, Shri Pradeep Kumar, Member Staff , Railway Board, and Shri Gautam Chaterjee, Addl. Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra were also present on the occasion.
