!!Viva Argentina Viva Tango!! DAIS puts on its dancing shoes for authentic Argentine Tango
The Spanish department of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, recently ranked as the number one international school in India, hosted its third annual Spanish Language and Cultural Workshop this September in conjunction with the Consulate General of Argentina in Mumbai along with BTangoConscious team. The focus of this event was the culture of Argentina and 34 International Board Spanish students experienced a full day of total linguistic immersion via interactive activities led by Ms. Nitika Gupta, Spanish Coordinator of DAIS, and her colleague Mr. George Mansur. The students had an opportunity to interact with the Argentine Deputy Consul Mr. Guillermo Alberto Simunovich, Mrs. Tarana Puri (Public relations officer) who gave the students a deeper insight into the Argentine culture and fascinated the students with the mesmerizing beauty of Argentina. For these 17 year old students an event which they particularly enjoyed was the Tango journey walked by Mr. Roberto Santucho, Ms. Aditi Jaiswal, Mr.Shannon Benjamin of the BTangoConscious team.
This initiative was a first of its kind with a balance and poise of education embedded with life learning skills through the thought and processes of tango in the background of Argentine culture. This fosters the International Board philosophy of Internationalism practiced at the school.
On this delightful occasion Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School said, “Cross-cultural appreciation is crucial in shaping globally minded citizens. Therefore, our school always emphasizes broadening students’ knowledge and understanding of other countries’ unique attributes and culture.
