New Version of ‘Vande Matram’ by Mahalaxmi Iyer releases today!!!
We have caught on a lot of versions of the hymn of our Mother Land, ‘Vande Matram’ by numerous singers and composers including A.R. Rahman’s famous album. Today on the devoted day of Independence Swapnil Mistry, the budding Singer-Composer-Lyricist introduces us to a new version of ‘Vande Matram’ sung by famed playback singer Mahalaxmi Iyer Day as a tribute to all freedom fighters, leaders and musical geniuses of our Country.
Swapnil Mistry is trained in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) since an early age under maternal grandfather, Shri Rajaram Koparde and then from Pt. Jal Balaporia of Gwalior Gharana for 12 years along with other gurus. He was seen as one of the participants in Hero Honda SA RE GA MA PA on Zee TV in the year 2002 hosted by Singer Shaan. He also participated as a contestant in Ghazal Show Aadab Arz Hai on SONY TV hosted by Pankaj Udhas. A huge fan of A. R. Rahman, Swapnil Mistry is inspired by Rahman’s sound.
The magnetism of Swapnil’s this version of ‘Vande Matram’ is the Indian Melody, simplicity and the rich classical composition which highlights our musical heritage & culture keeping the patriotic feel integral. The lyrical couplet has been taken from the very popular Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s 1882 novel Anandmath.
