‘During Covid Pandemic 82 lakh cases were heard Digitally’
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice of India Shri Sharad Bobde said that the new building will give the State an opportunity for better Administrational justice and some of the best arguments. This new building is a sign of new times. New Building will go to hear some of the best arguments and receive some of the best judgements.
High Court of Bombay at Goa has maintained the highest tradition of judiciary and made a significant contribution in the field of law, said Chief Justice of India.
In his address, Union Minister for Law and Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad lauded the efforts of the State Government for providing the infrastructure for Environment friendly new building of the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
He said, for rendering judicial infrastructure support the Centre, State Governments and the judiciary led by Chief Justice of India have to play a role of great mutuality.
Emphasising on Digital Courts; Minister said that the unique innovation to allow virtual courts is remarkable. During Covid Pandemic 82 lakh cases were heard Digitally by the judiciary. The Great wheel of justice kept going through digital mode during the pandemic, said Shri Prasad.
Social Media is empowering the people. That is a good thing. But, after filing Public Interest Litigation, many people start Social Media Campaigning which is not fair, said the Minister.
Judges at the Supreme Court Shri Justice N V Ramana; Shri Justice B.R. Gavai, Shri. Justice A.A. Sayed, Shri Justice S.S. Shinde, Chief Justice of the High Court at Bombay Shri Justice Dipankar Dutta; Minister for Law, Shri. Nilesh Cabral; Justice at the High Court of Bombay at Goa, Shri Justice Mahesh Sonak and Advocate General of Goa, Shri Devidas Pangam were also present at the inauguration of the new building of the High Court of Bombay at Goa.

याप्रसंगी बोलताना सरन्यायाधीश म्हणाले, नवीन इमारत राज्याला प्रशासकीय न्याय प्रदान करण्याची उत्तम संधी देईल. तसेच नवीन इमारतीत अनेक उत्तम वाद-प्रतिवाद होतील तसेच अनेक उत्तम निवाडे देण्यात येतील.
मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाच्या गोवा खंडपीठाने न्यायदानाची उच्च परंपरा जपली आहे आणि विधीच्या क्षेत्रात महत्त्वाचे योगदान दिले आहे, असे सरन्यायाधीश म्हणाले.
या कार्यक्रमात बोलताना केंद्रीय विधी आणि न्याय मंत्री रवी शंकर प्रसाद यांनी मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाच्या गोवा खंडपीठासाठी पायाभूत सुविधा प्रदान करण्याच्या राज्य सरकारच्या प्रयत्नांचे कौतुक केले.
ते म्हणाले, न्यायव्यवस्थेच्या पायाभूत विकासासाठी केंद्र सरकार, राज्य सरकारे आणि सरन्यायाधीशांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील न्यायसंस्थेने एकत्रित प्रयत्न केले पाहिजेत. न्यायसंस्थांच्या डिजीटल सुनावणीचे महत्त्व विशद करताना रवी शंकर प्रसाद म्हणाले आभासी न्यायालयाचे कामकाज ही अतिशय अनोखी नवकल्पना आहे. कोरोना संक्रमण काळात न्यायसंस्थेने देशभर 82 लाख खटल्यांची सुनावणी घेतली. कठीण काळातही न्यायदानाचे महान चक्र डिजीटल माध्यमातून सुरु ठेवण्यात आल्याचे ते म्हणाले.
समाज माध्यमांच्या वापराविषयी बोलताना मंत्री म्हणाले की, समाज माध्यमे नागरिकांना सक्षम करतात, ही अतिशय चांगली बाब आहे. मात्र, काही व्यक्ती जनहित याचिका दाखल केल्यानंतर समाजमाध्यमांतून त्याविषयी चळवळ सुरु करतात, हे योग्य नसल्याचे रवी शंकर प्रसाद यांनी सांगितले.
मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाच्या गोवा खंडपीठाच्या नवीन इमारतीच्या उद्घाटनाप्रसंगी सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाचे न्यायाधीश एन. व्ही. रमण्णा, न्यायाधीश बी.आर.गवई यांच्यासह मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाचे मुख्य न्यायाधीश श्री दीपंकर दत्ता यांची उपस्थिती होती.
