And this stands true not only for their movies but also for the music of the films. Their latest offering ‘Gotro’, post the huge success of ‘Konttho’, is certainly no different.
Even in its second week since release, ‘Gotro’ is going strong at the Bengali box office. As per industry sources, in its second week the film has collected Rs 29,02,477 so far from 17 cinema halls including multiplex and single-screen. It’s also the highest grossing Bengali film in Kolkata this month. The Nandita – Shiboprosad directorial will also have its national release next week.

‘Gotro’ is based on a social issue and tries to remind us of the importance of humanity over religion through a heart-warming story. After the 2011 film Icche, this is Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s second film focusing on the mother-son relationship And it looks like, the film which released on August 23, has struck the right chord among the movie lovers. Not only the audience, but the Bengali film fraternity too is going gaga over ‘Gotro’s moving story.

It’s enjoying full-houses for almost all its shows across Bengal including the multiplexes and single-screen theatres. The film sees an elderly woman striking a unique bond with an ex-convict who is entrusted with taking care of her. It’s a heartwarming story of love, faith and redemption.
